SUMMARY:H.O.M.E. Connect Summit
DESCRIPTION:H.O.M.E. Connect is a project born from the ideas of individuals\, by way of the Leadership Clayton Class of 2023\, who are passionately concerned about homelessness. The acronym H.O.M.E. stands for Helping Others Move into Empowerment. Our goal is to bridge the gap between Community Organizations from non-profit\, for-profit\, faith-based\, and community-minded Businesses in Clayton County and the people of Clayton County who are struggling with homelessness.\n\n\n\nWe understand that there are several great organizations doing great work in Clayton County to help combat this rising issue\, but many are operating in silos\, which continues to create a disconnect between those who can and those who cannot benefit from these excellent resource services. We want to connect and collaborate with these organizations so that better\, more efficient services are provided. It is our desire to see that no person or family is left hopeless or without the answers and help they so desperately need. \n\n\n\nH.O.M.E. Connect Summit Objectives:\n\n	Explore the various perspectives on gaps in continuity of care for the unhoused community as experienced by those who provide services and resources to those in need\n	Understand the impact of housing insecurity and homelessness on the quality of education\, health\, public safety\, and life in Clayton County\n	Discuss collaborative strategies to bridge gaps between services and resources that address the immediate needs of the homeless population\n	Coordinate the expertise of community advocates from business leaders\, county agencies\, and non-profit organizations to identify potential solutions to prevent acute and chronic homelessness\n	Build a foundational framework to develop the H.O.M.E. Connect Coalition to provide ongoing administrative\, organizational\, and financial support to sustain long-term efforts in homelessness prevention and advocacy
